Red Ink Tattoos
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Getting a Tattoo Hurt?
The truth is getting tattooed can be painful. The pain is different for everyone, depending on which areas of the body are more sensitive. It is commonly described as being encountered when scratched by a cat.
If you are averse to pain, you may opt to use numbing creams. One thing to consider is that these creams wear off and when they do, they then can feel more sensitive than it would have without the cream.
You can order certain skin creams online, others you have to get from your doctor. If you are considering using a numbing cream, discuss it with your artist beforehand.
Are Tattoos Permanent?
Tattoos are permanent although the ink can diminish with time if not properly cared for. Areas such as your fingers, buttocks, feet, and hands experience a lot of friction and are subject to ink fading. If you want to find out if you like the tattoo before making a permanent commitment, try our temporary tattoos.
Are Tattoos Safe?
Any incision or puncture to the skin poses a risk of infection. We will take the time to fully explain our procedure in plain English without giving you a sense that you are asking too many questions. We will also provide you with guidelines to carry out Tattoo Aftercare, which is where some people have issues.
What sets us apart? We are a reputable tattoo parlor that operates under sanitary conditions at all times. All of our artists are licensed and trained to perform tattoo procedures and we all follow the appropriate sterilization procedures and takes other precautions, such as putting on gloves and wearing face masks.
At Red Ink Tattoos, we only use disposable, sterile, single-use, needles. Our equipment is always sterilized; we go above and beyond the norm, to ensure a safe experience for you.
How Does The Tattoo Process Work?
The process of tattooing is not a mystery. At its simplest form, it’s the insertion of small amounts of ink into the second layer of skin, (referred to as the dermis) using a sharp tool like a needle. Skill is required to appropriately use and place the ink when engaged in the actor of tattooing. To understand the entire process from beginning to end, check out the Tattoo Process.
How Much Do Tattoos Cost?
Tattoos are like anything else in that you get what you pay for. Yes, there are tons of people who will charge peanuts for their work, but you will walk away disgruntled; possibly furious! In most cases, you may be forced to cover up their horrible work; we see this on a regular basis.
It’s important to look at what type of quality you desire and be willing to pay for it. It is never a good thing to haggle over the price of artistic creativity; that’s like haggling over the price of a Picasso. It is not respectful to the artist. Remember, the artists at Red Ink Tattoos create customer artwork that you will be proud to wear for the rest of your life.
What Is Your Minimum Pricing?
Our minimum pricing is one-hundred dollars, $100. This covers what it costs for a sterile setup, professional help, and an hour of our time.
The large custom projects will cost $180 an hour; as you calculate the numbers, you can see, the minimum charge for our services is especially cost-effective for smaller jobs.
Why Have a Minimum of $100?
Red Ink Tattoos was established and is managed by tattooers with decades of experience. Our artists are regarded as experts in their respective disciplines. Simply put, some of the greatest tattoo artists in the world work here. We have the training, knowledge, and experience to make your tattoo dreams come true.
Our price incorporates a base level of expertness and accountability that you will not find in most tattoo parlors. We have worked hard to build our excellent reputation. As a result, we are not making any attempt to compete with any of the mediocre shops, since are the best!
What If I'm Feeling Sick The Day of My Appointment?
Getting a tattoo when your health is in question is a bad idea all around; particularly if your immune system is compromised. You’ll need your strength and white blood cells at full power in order to heal your tattoo properly; definitely, something your body’s cells won’t be capable of doing if you’re currently battling bacterias and viruses.
Not to mention, let’s face the facts; it’s extremely inconsiderate to introduce your illness into any tattoo parlor. In this era of Covid 19, air-borne viruses and pathogens, we cannot risk passing germs onto others, particularly if we work with the public. Are you sick? Do you have an appointment? If so, call and reschedule so that we can keep everyone self.
Do You Offer a Free Consultation?
Yes, we do, but before you set up a free consultation, make sure to watch our brief tutorials like these: Tattoo Appointment, Tattoo Aftercare, About Us, our Artist page, and the Tattoo Process. Most of your common questions will be answered within those pages. Having shared that, feel free to contact us if you have further questions not answered on our website.
Do You Do Tattoo Cover-Ups?
Our cover-up services include work performed by skilled artists. However, a consultation is essential, this is especially true if you’re trying to cover a huge or extremely dark design. At Red Ink Tattoos, our artists can design and style something eye-catching to cover up a previous tattoo mistake. Yes, there are limits to what we can do in terms of repairing unwanted and poor designs, but we would love the opportunity to help you feel confident about your appearance.
What If I Need Help Coming Up With Tattoo Ideas?
The point of getting a tattoo is that your body becomes a canvas to display your unique artwork. Tattoos aren’t a worthwhile idea if you want to remain incognito. In terms of designs, use images that resemble what you want and present them to an artist; that gives them a foundation to build from.
For example, if your dream tattoo is a Bald Eagle swooping down on a stream to grab a salmon, get real eagle photos of Bald Eagles in flight and pictures of salmons migrating, to give your tattoo artist an idea of what you’re seeking to express. If you have an idea in mind for a design, share your thoughts and get the artist’s input before commissioning the artwork.

The inks that we use are of the highest quality available. Our ink suppliers manufacture inks under sterile conditions and lead the industry with quality and safety standards. We do welcome walk-ins, however, we cannot guarantee that an artist will be available, especially on the weekends. That’s why we recommend booking an appointment.
Any Body Parts You Don’t Tattoo?
